Jammu, Mar 15 (KNO): The Jammu & Kashmir Government on Saturday said it has not set-up any deadline for the cabinet-sub-committee (CSC) constituted by it to examine the reservation rules.
In a written response to question of Peoples Conference MLA Sajad Gani Lone, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), minister in-charge Social Welfare Sakina Itto informed the House that no specific timeline has been fixed for submitting of the report by CSC.
“The Cabinet Sub Committee stands constituted vide Government order No. 2061- JKGAD of 2024, dated 10.12. 2024 to examine the grievances projected by a section of aspirants for various posts regarding reservation rules. However, no specific timeline has been fixed for submitting the report, “the minister said.
Lone had asked whether a six-month timeline has been granted to the ministerial panel for submitting the report.
Headed by Sakina Ittoo, the panel comprises minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Javed Rana and Minister for Consumer Affairs Satish Sharma.
The Minister also informed the House that 5, 26,605 certificates under the scheduled tribe and scheduled caste categories have been issued in Jammu region since April 01, 2023 and 79813 in Kashmir.
According to the details, 67172 SC certificates and 4, 59,493 ST certificates have been issued in Jammu during this period, whereas 79813 ST certificates have been issued in Kashmir.
The government also disclosed that 2198 villages in Jammu are benefitted under Actual Line of Control (ALC, International Border (IB) and Reserved Backward Area(RBA) categories in Jammu region since April 01, 2023 and 1245 in Kashmir.
Of these 2198 villages in Jammu, 268 have been declared as ALC, 551 International Border and 1379 Reserved Backward Area.
In Kashmir Valley, as per the reply, 16 villages fall under ALC category and 1229 under RBA category.
The government also revealed that 27420 certificates under Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) have been issued in Jammu region and mere 2273 in Kashmir region, the minister disclosed—(KNO)
